Job Summary | The Mechanical & Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the proper functioning of mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with safety and operational standards. |
Duties of Job | 1. Maintenance & Repair Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment. Diagnose faults and malfunctions in systems and repair them promptly. Install, calibrate, and upgrade equipment as needed. Ensure that all systems operate efficiently and meet quality standards. 2. Troubleshooting Inspect and test equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Use diagnostic tools to assess performance and locate faults. Develop solutions to complex mechanical and electrical problems.
3. Safety Compliance Adhere to all safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements. Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace. Ensure that all work complies with local and international safety and electrical standards.
4. Documentation Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Document operational issues and report them to supervisors. Update equipment manuals and schematics as modifications occur.
5. Collaboration Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors to ensure project success. Provide technical support and training to junior staff as needed.
6. Inventory Management Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and tools. Recommend procurement of equipment and materials as necessary.
—- Qualifications 1. Educational Requirements Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.
2. Technical Skills Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Knowledge of HVAC, PLC systems, and motor controls is a plus.
3. Certifications Certification in electrical safety or specific equipment (e.g., OSHA, NFPA). Specialized training in mechanical and electrical systems is desirable.
