Amazing opportunity to join a young and growing spice export business located in Tanzania. They source agricultural products from small farmers, process these products in their factory and export them to Europe. Currently, they are seeking to expand their sales into North America. Their business prioritises social impact by integrating support for farmers and environmental sustainability into their model, promoting sustainable and regenerative farming practices.




  • People Development: Mentor employees in their personal and professional growth through goal setting, performance reviews, building trust, active listening, and providing discipline when necessary.


  • Strategic Leadership: Support and guide department managers on various strategic issues, including project implementation, government relations, and procurement.


  • Factory Operations: Monitor the status of client orders to ensure timely delivery and quality. Collaborate with the quality manager to develop strategies that enhance efficiency and improve quality controls.


  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with funders, government entities, and other organisations that could provide synergistic opportunities.


  • Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure that all regulatory and compliance responsibilities are clearly assigned to department managers and remain up to date.


  • Strategic Guidance: Inform directors of potential opportunities and areas for improvement, focusing on cost reduction, revenue growth, supply chain risk mitigation, long-term investments, and enhancing social impact.


  • Human Resources: Collaborate with the HR consulting team to ensure adherence to all procedures and policies.


  • Financial Oversight: Approve short-term budgets and expenses. Support staff in procurement decisions and create downstream incentives to increase profitability and maximise quality with our small farmer partners and purchasing team.




  • Five years of experience managing direct reports
  • Five years of senior management experience in factory processing or procurement, preferably in food processing or agriculture
  • Experience working in an international team environment
  • Basic financial understanding in a factory context (profit and loss, margins, processing loss)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in Swahili and advanced proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal-and strong listening abilities
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and aware of deadlines
