Our client is a a global leader in the procurement and sale of frozen meat, poultry, pork, seafood and vegetable products with an office in Cape Town, South Africa.
The selected Sales Manager - West Africa will be responsibile for the following but not limited to: Sales Management (50%)
· Maintain accounts by staying in constant communication with customers via email, phone, and visiting customers. This includes understanding the customer needs and building a relationship with parties involved
· Manage sales metrics and goals by effectively selling our core products and developing new business
· Manage gross profit and tonnage for each account base while managing inventory
Operations Management (30%)
· Examines customer specification and provides feedback to operations team with support in coordinating shipment schedules, timing, contractual requirements, and specifications
· Coordinates with Operations and Transportation teams to ensure that customer product is being delivered on time in effort to drive lower costs and improved service
Financial Management (15%)
· Oversee the financial management function for the region in conjunction with the credit and accounting teams
· Manage customers' sales portfolios within approved credit limits
· Negotiate with credit team to ensure that customer needs are being met while managing internal risk
· Ensure that customer credit files are maintained with accurate and timely information regarding customer business, financial credentials, and key contactsClaims Management (5%)
· Manage claims process for the region in coordination with the Corporate Risk and Insurance team by mediating the customer need and relationship
· Facilitate the claims process by providing support with vital information including documentation, product, key contacts, summary of issue, and cost analysis for each claim
· Liaise with internal functional teams to support the claims process
The selected Sales Manager - West Africa will fit the following profile:
Sales Experience in East Africa markets, experience with sales of frozen commodities.
A proven history of developing customer or vendor market share.
Transportation, claims, credit, and operation procedures knowledge is a plus.
Language Requirements:
Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write English and French fluently (French is negotiable), while proficiency in a third language is preferred, especially Portuguese.
