The Site Manager will have the following accountabilities:

  • Leadership
    • Under the support and the guidance of the Cluster Executives, provide effective management and coordination of operations in Madagascar in a manner consistent with the company's vision and core values
    • Provide support and contribute to the coordination of support consistent with contractual commitments
    • In close relationship with the Cluster Management team, support the delivery of competent and professional operations through the development of strong operations function that meets the Clients requirements
  • Operational Management
    • In collaboration with the Cluster Executives, draft, plan, implement and evaluate the operational roadmap to support the business growth agenda
    • Drive a performance centric mindset and set comprehensive service delivery targets that are client focused and quality driven
    • Define and streamline processes and systems for the delivery of services within the operations department to ensure professional and seamless service delivery of contracted services to clients
    • Work with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are clearly defined and share impacts with Sales and Service delivery services to align pricing, process and tools to sustain Operation Excellence
    • Develop, interpret and implement policies, including standards, procedures and practices, position descriptions, performance appraisals, and quality assurance as appropriate with consistence inputs and needs definition all across the process flow including interfacing process like liaison, supply chain and operations and project support teams, to sustain the Operation Excellence
  • Quality of Service
    • Assist in ensuring services are delivered to company's standards and client requirements
    • Ensure that client service level agreements are in place with clear KPIs defined (as required on a case-by-case basis) and that actual performance against the agreed service levels are reported to the client on a frequency as per agreed with the relevant client
  • Operations Excellence
    • Monitor and elevate the standard of the Region's Operations, implement best practices to increase client satisfaction
    • Lead Operation integrating system continuous improvement jointly of the process, contributors and manage Operation process review jointly with Quality Team
    • Responsible for implementing best practices
  • Client Relationship & Contract Management
    • Develop relationships with the Clients to ensure their needs are clearly defined and that the company is delivering the expected and agreed level of service
    • Retain and renew 100% of the existing accounts on time and according to budget
    • Identify New Business and Account Extension opportunities to upsell each of the existing accounts, together with the Account Manager
    • Provide top level account management for existing clients and focus on relationship building to increase the profitability of each client through relationship marketing and cross selling
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and monitor the budget for all areas of responsibility, in line with company budget requirements and directives
    • Monitor and supervise the general and capital expenditure, cost management, control of general and administrative cost and general assets and advise management towards improved cost control and resource allocation
  • People
    • Select, orientate, supervise, evaluate and develop staff in their roles
    • Ensure that quality systems are in place for all staff to be trained and qualified in the provision of effective and professional support in all scopes of the business
    • Demonstrate an ability to create an atmosphere and conditions that are conducive to and foster motivation of employees to work to optimal efficiency
  • Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities
    • Encourage positive attitudes towards OH&S and act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours
    • Ensure all workers including contractors participate in approved OH&S training programs
    • Co-operate with management in its fulfilment of its legislative obligations

  • Management qualification with 5 years plus post-graduation experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or Site Management, ideally within an international services company
  • Prior experience of working in Energy, Mining or Infrastructure sectors would be an advantage
  • Previous work experience in Africa and/or developing environments
  • Familiar with HSE
  • English is essential, French a strong asset
  • Hands-on manager with a good business acumen and entrepreneurship
  • Very good leadership and people management skills. Ability to collaborate, co-operate and network effectively within a demanding, culturally diverse, matrix organisation
  • Process management; Good analytical skills for developing procedures and improving systems
