Job offer: Storekeeper (m/f)

Position:
STOREKEEPER.

Typical functions & missions (guideline):
1. To exercise general control over all activities in Main Stores and in internal back-up Stores
2. To ensure safe keeping both as to quality and quantity of materials
3. To maintain proper records and make sure that the materials are issued in Solis Software on a daily basis including stocks of varnish, edging and glue
4. To initiate internal purchase requisitions to the purchasing department for the replacement of stock of all regular store items whenever the stock level of any item of store approaches the minimum limit fixed in respect thereof
5. To initiate action for stoppage of further purchasing when the stock level approaches the maximum limit
6. To check and receive purchased materials to arrange for the storage in appropriate places
7. To reserve a particular material for a specific job when so required and to do the appropriate classification in store
8. To issue materials only in required quantities against authorized requisition notes/material lists
9. Be able to deliver reports to control the quantities issued versus the quantities requested
10. To check the book balances, with the actual physical stock at frequent intervals by way of internal control over wrong issues
11. Improvement of methods of work
12. Training and coaching if any
13. Any other cognate duties

Profile:
- Motivated to learn
- Honest
- Highly organised
- Computer literate (especially Excel)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
- If possible, experience in the furniture industry, otherwise in hardware stores or construction. It is important that the person has worked in the trade
- Driving licence
- Forklift licence if possible

Conditions:
- Working hours and days: 7.00am - 4.30pm (Monday to Friday), Saturday and after hours will count as overtime.
- Salary base Rs 25,000.00/month but will also depend on experience.
