Job Summary

The Driver/Messenger will be responsible for transporting employees between the workplace and pickup locations, as well as dispatching and delivering goods, mail, and documents to different places. The role involves keeping the vehicle in good condition and managing time effectively. A valid driving license for both private car and motorcycle is required. Owning a motorbike would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will also need to provide a medical certificate and a certificate of character once the job is confirmed. Candidates should reside in the Port Louis region, be reliable, organised, and focused on providing a professional service in all transport and delivery tasks.

Duties of Job

• Pick up and deliver documents, packages, and other items to specified locations in a timely and secure manner.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of all deliveries.
• Greet passengers and assist them in entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Observe all necessary protocols when transporting dignitaries, families, or guests.
• Maintain an accurate log of deliveries and pickups, including recipient details and delivery times.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on the company vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Monitor vehicle mileage and usage, and inform the officer in charge when servicing is required.
• Be available to drive outside of regular hours
• Report any vehicle issues or incidents to management immediately.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and mail distribution, as needed.
• Provide transportation support for company staff and guests when required.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding vehicle operation.
• Collect donations when instructed.
