Our client is a leading player in the distribution and servicing of construction equipment across Africa. Due to an expansion of their business in Angola & Namibia, they are currently seeking a Procurement specialist to join their team who can help manage their supplier & vendors and procurement needs.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager for Angola & Namibia, you will carry out the below duties:
- Responsible for researching new suppliers, vendors and managing purchase terms for sourced products
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements as per company guidelines
- Effective collaboration with the Procurement Manager on seeking approvals for product and equipment , pricing and negotiations
- You monitor the supplier performance and inspect the quality of purchased items
- Analyzing industry and demand trends, while supporting management with the implementation of sourcing strategies
- Negotiating with suppliers, preparing proposals and request quotes
Your bring 8 years of proven working experience as a Procurement Specialist with a strong focus on Supplier management & Sourcing within a Construction equipment or Logistics sector
Previous working experience within a multinational industry is a bonus
Excellent geographical knowledge of Angola is preferred
Bachelor's degree in Supply chain management or similar field is preferred
Excellent working knowledge of purchasing strategies in Angola is required
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Advanced user of MS Office, specifically Excel
Excellent fluency in both Portuguese and English is required
